The Cyclochromatophone

My partner and I have been working together to create a color wheel keyboard.

Here is a brief description from the About section, which I wrote.

"There is sound. There is color. There is form. These fundamentals of our perception can be encoded into the unit circle. Everything is a proportion – proportion is Harmony. Chromatic: the word derives from the Greek χρῶμα (khrōma), meaning color. Great thinkers such as Newton and Goethe attempted to correlate pitch and color through the circle, while great composers such as Messiaen and Scriabin experienced a form of synaesthesia, allowing them to see sound. A color wheel keyboard combines the abstract work of those great thinkers with the practicality of the synaesthetes. The keyboard correlates pitch and color through the unit circle divided into twelve equal sections. When a key is struck a line is drawn from that pitch to the midpoint of the circle. Sounding multiple notes creates shapes – these shapes encode the proportion of the sonority. Color coding the shape of sound calls upon both the pattern recognizing self and the detail defining self to work in unison. It shows us harmony. "

Give is a try. It's quite fun!
